The new work world is bringing the need for data sovereignty and security to the forefront, as businesses shift to the cloud to enable people to work from anywhere.

How companies and consumers connect has changed dramatically over the last period – with compliance and security considerations gaining in importance due to recurring cyberattack and geo-political context. As the world continues to shift to the cloud, we are being tasked with delivering better data sovereignty and security. It’s not enough to simply have the right technology – companies need to ensure that their data is secure and that privacy rules and regulations are respected, depending on their country or industry.

While compliance and security have always been important, they have become increasingly so, in this time where employees work in remote and distributed environments. Any company that has access to customer data must ensure they can protect and preserve that private data – and sometimes that means keeping the data close to home.

Security certifications and recognitions

Regulations and certifications are at the top of mind for most business leaders and must be taken into account when considering new technology. At Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise, we provide the highest level of regulatory compliance with GDPR and ISO 270001 certifications, as well as HDS, CSPN, HIPAA, FERPA, AGID, ENS, C5 and other regional or industry certifications in progress. Moreover, as a European-based company, Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise is not bound by the Cloud or Patriot Acts.

Our choice of hosting is proof of our compliance

Our partnership with OVHcloud, a trusted provider of SecNumCloud-compliant open cloud solutions, sets us apart. Rainbow services are delivered through a worldwide infrastructure, with public cloud access through our OVH data centre in Europe. Private cloud support is available through Rainbow Edge, which allows end-customers to use their preferred data centre. We also offer solutions for hybrid architectures to connect any PBX to Rainbow. ALE has the most comprehensive Cloud portfolio with hybrid, private or public architectures to enable customers to handle their migration at their own pace.

Rainbow offers customers complete control over their data, and we’re seeing a very positive response to that. The ability to provide a flexible and compliant environment in Europe is a huge differentiator for us. We propose to our customers with the deployment and compliance options they need to securely operate and ensure business continuity.

To-date, Rainbow has more than 3 million users globally, across a variety of industries. Banks, hospitals, universities and administrations have invested in Rainbow for their communications and collaboration, and as well in the transportation industry, Rainbow equips a large number of cruise ships and metro lines.

Comprehensive and flexible functionality

The Rainbow™ by Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise solution combines Communications Platform as a Service (CPaaS) and comprehensive Unified Communications as a Service (UCaaS) functionality, with a way to fully protect and respect user data and privacy.

Rainbow goes beyond regular UCaaS services, providing the capabilities to integrate real-time communications and collaboration services into customers’ apps using our open CPaaS platform and APIs. This capability enables users to build in their own functionality and features to meet their business needs. The unique workflow engine within Rainbow also helps connect all parts of the business, from people and processes to objects. And we have a community of more than 2,000 developers to help innovate services.

We are excited about helping to pave a path to simplification and data control for companies who need to ensure that they’re adhering to compliance and regulatory requirements in this new work world. It’s time for businesses to have the innovative features and functionality they need without compromising on security, privacy, or data sovereignty.
